HARRISON BARNES REELECTED AS SECRETARY-TREASURER, GARRETT TEMPLE REELECTED AS VICE PRESIDENT TO THE NBPA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

HARRISON BARNES REELECTED AS SECRETARY-TREASURER, GARRETT TEMPLE REELECTED AS VICE PRESIDENT TO THE NBPA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Indianapolis, IN, February 17, 2024 – The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) held its annual winter meeting of the NBPA Board of Player Representatives earlier today. Harrison Barnes and Garrett Temple were reelected to the NBPA Executive Committee as Secretary-Treasurer and Vice President, respectively. Their 3-year terms will begin effective immediately. 


Barnes was first elected to the NBPA’s Executive Committee as the Secretary-Treasurer in 2021, while Temple has served as a Vice President on the NBPA’s Executive Committee since 2017. 


"I'm grateful that my peers have placed their trust in me as the Secretary-Treasurer," said Harrison Barnes. "Serving my fellow players in this capacity is a privilege and a responsibility I take very seriously. I joined the NBPA Executive Committee back in 2021 to get more involved in Union business, and I am excited to continue in this leadership role to represent our players' best interests on and off the court." 


"It's an honor to be reeelcted as a Vice President on the NBPA Executive Committee," said Garrett Temple. "Since joining the Executive Committee in 2017, I've seen our Union make great strides to support the journey of the 450+ players in our game. Serving on the Executive Committee over the last seven years has been a rewarding experience for me to advocate for the well-being of past, present, and future generations of players." 


"I'm thrilled to have Harrison and Garrett return as members of the NBPA Executive Committee," said CJ McCollum, President of the NBPA. "Harrison and Garrett have a wealth of knowledge and insight on our players' experiences, and their leadership has been an invaluable resource during critical periods in our Union's history. I am excited to continue working with them in their respective roles to shape the direction of the NBPA and better serve the collective group of players."
