– Turner Joins the Executive Committee, Replacing Garrett Temple After His Nine Years of Service –   

NEW YORK (Sept. 16, 2026) — The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) today announced that Myles Turner was elected vice president on the NBPA Executive Committee. Turner will begin his three-year term immediately, replacing Garrett Temple, who retired at the end of the 2025-26 NBA season. 

“I am thrilled to join the executive committee at such a pivotal time for our league and am prepared to take on this leadership role within the PA,” said Myles Turner. “It's an honor to be voted in by my peers, and I am committed to advancing the priorities that matter most to the players across the league.” 

Turner, an 11-year veteran, began his NBA career in 2015. After being drafted with the 11th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Turner earned a spot on the All-Rookie Second Team in 2016 and later went on to lead the NBA in blocks per game in 2019 and 2021. Off the court, Turner is passionate about social impact and philanthropy. Early in his career, Turner established the W.A.R.M. (Work As Role Models) Foundation, an initiative created to support underserved communities. Through the foundation, Turner most recently pledged $1 million over 10 years to Empowering the Masses, with the proceeds being used to combat food insecurity and support 500 families each week. Additionally, in 2025, Turner and his fiancée, Aysia McCloud, co-founded The Casper Foundation, an organization dedicated to animal welfare by focusing on animal rescue, shelter support and adoption.  

Turner will replace Temple, who was first elected as a vice president on the NBPA Executive Committee in 2017 and was subsequently reelected in 2021 and 2024. During his nine-year tenure on the executive committee, Temple was part of multiple collective bargaining cycles and helped guide the NBPA’s strategic planning and key initiatives to support the well-being of all players on and off the court.
